In a developing Country like India, witnessing a revolutionary upgradation in literacy, demand of skilled technician is also bound to grow. It is important on the part of vocational training institutions, to grow with the same phase for the betterment of the industry, society, as well as overall industrial growth of the nation. Vocational training is an important subject under constitution. The central as well as the state government share the responsibility of implementing vocational training in the country.

During 2019-2020 Assembly session, under Rule 110 on the floor of Assembly on 12.07.2019, Hon’ble Chief Minister has announced to start new Government Industrial Training Institutes at Oragadam in Kanchipuram district in collaboration with Power Grid Corporation of India Limited under CSR activities. Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has to establish ITIs all infrastructural facilities under CSR activities. The State Government will provide the required land .
